A little bit

about me

We evolved to raise children in community, but the village has largely disappeared. We can't go back, but we can build something new.

Raising kids is one of the most important jobs there is, and building your support network now is one of the most impactful things you can do.

Bring a specialist to your team to find relief from parenting anxiety and guilt and know you are raising resilient kids.

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with children and adults who feel overwhelmed, isolated, or shaped by growing up in painful environments. I work with parents who want to break the cycle, but have learned it’s easier said than done.

I've been in practice since 2021, and bring nearly 20 years of experience supporting families. And I'm not just affirming of queer and neurodiverse folks, I am one!

I’m also a parent with personal experience in transforming family cycles and guiding children in a new way. I’ve been lucky enough to find support on my path, and it’s my belief that everyone should be so lucky.

Sound familiar? If you know how you DON'T want to parent, but not how you DO want to parent, or if traditional parenting advice doesn't fit your family, reach out.

And yes, therapy can be funny!

More about me

My approach

Therapy with me is about real life, real families, with minimal "therapy speak". I bring humor, compassion, and evidence-based interventions to my sessions. I help my clients see all their parts with compassion, and I support the nervous system so we can do brave work.

Identity and fun facts

I'm a white, queer, non-binary, neurodiverse, non-monogamous, and radical single parent (to a child and a dog) living on the traditional lands of the Duwamish and Coast Salish people. I came to this area in the mid-2000's from North Texas, the traditional lands of the Wichita and other tribal nations.

I love to dance, read, run super slowly, and my car is messier than yours.

I am actively committed to liberation, and I work to build a more free, diverse, and inter-dependent community locally and globally. I see intergenerational trauma work as a way to heal violent systems of oppression, and the support of children as a way to build a better world.

My education

I hold a masters degree in Psychology from Seattle University (2021) and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Washington.

I've supported children and families for nearly 20 years. In addition to my work with adults, I've worked in early childhood education, Montessori education, the public school system, community mental health, and have specialized training in Infant and Early Childhood mental health.

My modalities

I am trained in Parts Work (Internal Family Systems), Mindful Self-Compassion, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Circle of Security, Neurodiversity, Perinatal Mental Health, the Dynamic Maturation Module of Attachment, Child-Centered Play Therapy, and other modalities for treating childhood and adult trauma, anxiety, and depression.
