Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation
Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation is an evidence-based, multilevel intervention in which a mental health professional teams with teachers to support classrooms.
As a consultant, my knowledge of children’s mental health and neurodiversity becomes a resource for teachers to use when connecting with the children they care for, and the time I spend with teachers supports them so they can support the children.
I do this by helping teachers identify strengths and challenges in the classroom and reflect on their own and the children's needs, by providing psycho-education, and by offering evidence-based and culturally aware interventions. My job is not to "fix kids" or evaluate teachers, it is to support everyone's true needs. This often leads to "ah ha!" moments that can transform a teacher-child relationship and bring equilibrium to a classroom.

Consultation is not therapy, and I do not provide diagnoses or treatment as a consultant. When appropriate, I may make referrals for further support.
Consultation is tailored to a school's specific needs, but it might look like:

Child-focused Consultation
This focuses on a specific child who may be struggling in a classroom. Services include classroom observation and one-on-one sessions with teachers and assistants.
Classroom Consultation
This supports all children in a particular classroom, and includes observation and one-on-one sessions with teachers and assistants.
Programmatic Consultation
This includes observation in all classrooms, one-on-one sessions with teachers and assistants, and all-staff trainings.
Consultation for Mental Health Professionals
I provide consultation to mental health and other professionals related to Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and how to support non-traditional families of all kinds.
