Psychotherapy Services

Parenting therapy
So many parents and caregivers want to give their children something more than what they had, but they don't know where to start, or past demons keep getting in the way.

Many adults come to see me saying, "I didn't know I needed to do this work until I saw how it was affecting my child." So many parents blame themselves, when what they need is more support.

How I Work

I help adults and children build the lives they were meant to live, lives with joy and community, with room to breath, room to grieve, and where they can process ghosts from the past and find the gifts they want to pass on to the next generation.

I work with folks experiencing depression, anxiety, perinatal mood disorders, PTSD, and more. Beyond diagnoses, I believe behavior makes sense when we know the whole story, and that we never know as much of the story as we think we do. I always work through an intergenerational, trauma-informed, anti-oppression, and neurodiversity-affirming lens.

I work with many who came out of childhood with a mixed handful of gifts and wounds. Those who feel that they are responsible for solving all of their problems alone, those suffering from perfectionism, a pervasive sense of urgency, conflict avoidance, or the feeling that that they don’t have the right to comfort. Folks who feel culture-less and community-less, or whose culture and community are oppressed. I support folks struggling with the natural but "forbidden" feelings of aggression, shame, regret, and suicidal ideation.

I believe these limits are not an end, but the beginning of new possibilities. This is why my work centers children. Children are still in touch with our innate rights and gifts. We were all children once, and we all deserve to be nurtured. Whether you have a child in your life or not, I have seen the child be a gateway to the lives we were meant to lead.

I utilize Existential Psychology, Parts Work, Child- Parent Psychotherapy, and Child-Centered Play Therapy. My work centers healing inter-generational trauma, building social support, and liberation psychology. When appropriate, I provide evidence-based parental skill building utilizing my training in Positive Disciple. I have received additional training in Neurodiversity, Perinatal Mental Health, the Dynamic Maturation Module of attachment, and Circle of Security Parenting.

I currently have weekday openings for virtual sessions with adult clients.

I currently work with children by working with their caregivers. See below for information about these services. In the future, I may have openings for children for in-person play therapy. Please inquire if you would like your child to be added to a waitlist.

I sometimes facilitate Circle of Security parenting groups. Inquire for more information.

What is Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health?

In addition to working with adults and older children, since 2021 I have specialized in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. This is attachment work. The mental health of infants and toddlers is tied inexorably to their caregivers, as a child's world revolves around this precious connection. Caregivers come in for services with concerns about these little ones when the family has experienced a trauma, when the caregiver is struggling with their own health, when bonding isn’t going as expected, or when their child doesn’t engage with the world as expected.

I support the mental health of children birth - 5 by strengthening the adult-child relationship. As part of my assessment, I include one virtual or in person (in the Seattle area) home visit, where I observe the child and caregivers interacting. I then work virtually with the caregivers, supporting them support their child.

I utilize Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Promoting First Relationships, and Circle of Security in this work.
