Working to reforge the village
where’s the
village?
Therapy for overwhelmed parents

You were never meant to do this alone
Parents, children, and individuals are out here longing for connection but stuck in an isolated world. So many have dreams for themselves and their family, but toxic patterns, depression, anxiety, trauma, and the relentless perfectionism of modern life hold them back.
And I’ll tell you – if working harder or finding another book or bot fixed things, you’d be there already.
Because the true antidote to isolation is being witnessed in relationship.

I'm Brecca Smith, and I support folks in Washington state managing depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting, and isolation. Neurodiverse, LGBTQIA+, and non-traditional families are celebrated here! And parents of infants and young children: I know you miss the village the most.
As a therapist, I join your village for a little while. Together, we create space for understanding, repair, and change—and sometimes, that kind of joining is a bridge to the life you’ve been longing for.

I also offer mental health consultation in childcare settings for providers and families, because these services are an essential part of the modern village.

We evolved for community, relationship, and to be met with welcoming arms. But the village has largely disappeared. We can't go back, but we can build something new.
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with parents and adults who feel overwhelmed, isolated, or shaped by growing up in emotionally neglectful or harmful environments. I work with folks who want to break the cycle, but have learned it’s easier said than done.

I help people heal at the root—not just manage symptoms, but transform what’s underneath them.

I help people live their values and bring their gifts to the world. Not by giving you more advice, but by building understanding, repair, and self-compassion. I'm here for the joy of neurodiverse, queer, gender queer, blended, single parent, and non-traditional families of all kinds – helping folks move through burdens and into celebration.

I specialize in healing intergenerational attachment trauma and bring nearly 20 years of experience supporting families. And, I’m a parent who’s had my share of hard times. I’ve been lucky enough to find support through those times, and it’s my belief that everyone should be so lucky.

Services

I work with adults struggling with inter-generational trauma which may show up as anxiety, depression, or PTSD. I use a relational, neurodiversity and trauma-informed approach.
As parents, our mental health directly effects our parenting. I support parents who want to stop unhealthy cycles, learn how to build healthy attachment, and get support themselves.

I support children's mental health by strengthening their bond with their caregivers. I utilize attachment, developmental neuroscience, and trauma-informed care.
