village ...

build the support you've been missing

It takes a

Okay, you know the early years matter.

Do you know you don't have to get it perfect?
And that small shifts now can make a big difference?

I support families and communities in healing from modern stress and past trauma, so the grown ups can lead from their true selves -- and the kids never have to question theirs.

You're not imagining it --
raising kids really isn't supposed to be this hard

When your child explodes out of nowhere, what are they trying to tell you? When they worry and can’t be soothed, where is that fear coming from, and how do you reach them?

When you snapped last night and did exactly what you said you’d never do – you yelled, or spanked, or let them have ice cream for dinner just to avoid a fight – what happened right before you snapped? What were you needing?

Family therapy treats these as the most important questions. When someone helps ask them, we see change.

Your child comes to therapy and is free to use toys as symbols, to move, to mess up and fix it themselves … and then you see them start taking responsibility at home. You get less back talk and there’s fewer outbursts. The calls from school stop.

You never thought you could shake your mistakes as a parent, and then you start seeing your strengths, apologizing and moving on, trying new things and getting new responses.

You felt cornered by your child, and now you find your feet as the compassionate leader.

There's help for families and who are overwhelmed, grieving, reactive, shut down, struggling with school, scared, or just need someone else on their team.

  • Maybe your child is struggling and you want more for them

  • Maybe you're holding things together as a parent but are over the perfectionism and isolation

  • Maybe you want to give your kids more than what you got, but have no idea where to start

  • Or maybe you've learned the parenting trends don't fit your queer or neurodiverse family

Maybe you've tried all the things: you've read the books, asked the internet, taken your friends' advice.

And yet ... the cost feels too high and old patterns keep getting in the way.

You’re not imagining things or asking for too much. We were never meant to raise our kids alone. When the village is missing, everything is harder—for you and for your child.

What if therapy could expand your village?

I work with adults and children who want something more than just surviving.

They want joy and connection. Families that feel nourished.

Parenting that’s authentic and easy (or easier!)

And a community that supports them, instead of systems that work against them.

I'm Brecca Smith (they/she/he), a therapist, parent-child specialist, and queer parent who knows the work it takes to break cycles and guide children in a new way.

I bring my clinical training, lived experience, and compassionate, attachment-focused style to help you and your children finally get the support you need.
